Chase Race 9: PhoenixPosted by in General
I should call this the: Allmendinger is a Dingdong Edition. How many wrecks did that guy cause today? Three? Four? Unfortunately Tony got caught up in the last two of them. The first one after Tony had worked his way up into the top ten. Unfortunately Allmendinger ended up finishing even higher than Tony despite the two accidents.
And speaking of accidents- I was like what the heck happened. I had looked down for a brief minute to look at my blanket I was crocheting and then next thing I know Kvapil’s car is on top of Scott Speed’s car. Wow. It could have been a lot worse.
Overall I had a good feeling the race would have rain delay since my friend called me from Vegas and told me at 8 something in the morning it had been pouring there. I don’t understand why it was a big deal- of course it rains in the desert. I can tell you from experience it not only rains but it snows. And…it can lightning like all get out…the first year my friend moved to Vegas- she hadn’t been in her house but 6 weeks probably and I was down there to visit…and it lightninged so hard one night that I was so scared I hit in the bathroom under their stairs cuz it was the only room in the house besides the laundry room that didn’t have windows. But I digress.
I have an admission to make. Since Tony is out of the chase I have been rooting for Jimmie for the Chase win (I still root for Tony to win each race)…because I kind of want him to tie Cale Yarborough. Well next week is the last race of the 2008 season. It is the last race that Tony will be flying Home Depot colors. It will be the last race that Greg Zipadelli is on the pit box for Tony. It will be the end of an era. And the beginning of a new one for Tony Stewart. One I am excited to watch from the ground up.
