Nothing To Be Anxious About Anymore

Well yesterday as I was about to leave for lunch I was told to prepare to be moved when I came back from lunch. I am now mostly settled into this new office…and have slowly begun the process of Amyizing it.

Things so far that are awesome: I haven’t gotten lost on the way to the breakroom or the bathroom! The breakroom is so splendid- its got an awesome view of the ocean and the coolest funky furniture. (That is SO gonna be my spot I told my boss that they will have to peel me out of the break room.)  There is a random leather couch right out side my office.   There is TOO much shelf space! The chair in this office is wicked cool -I love it. Did I mention that I have my own office- complete with door? Putting faces with the names of all the people in the library that I talk to on the phone…sometimes my job is kinda weird because I talk to lots of people but only know what a handful actually look like.  The bathroom is amazing too. Actually the whole building is kind of amazing. Its HUGE and Airy and very open feeling- except for the area where my office is.

Things so far that are anti-awesome: Cell service still sucks- too much concrete. Parking still sucks- too close to the dorms. The stairs…that sucks cuz I am lazy. There is TOO much shelf space. Being in my own office is kind of isolating. I did get lost on the way out of the building last night. The coffeeshop/deli on the first floor? Is no where near being ready to open :(

This so far that are just a little odd: Did I mention the shelf space- it takes up one complete wall…and it is too high. I can barely reach the second shelf let alone the third (I am short). The door. Its mostly glass so I feel kinda like I am in a fishbowl. That glass door? Is incredibly tall. And it makes me feel even shorter. My boss says its an 8 foot door. I guess they expect basketball players or giants to come calling or something?  There is a weird echo in the hall so voices carry. Yet if I shut my door I feel like I am in some sort of little soundproof capsule.  The fact that the furniture is soo funky and eclectic…and nothing really matches. I would love to know who picked the colors. The couch outside my office? Is a light gray. The chairs in the public area on this floor? Are 70’s Orange, 70’s Green, And Gray. Some of the couches are plaid.
