A lot of times I think we don’t take enough time to be thankful, even for the little things in our life that are good. Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. A time to be thankful and grateful for all that we have. Friends, family, health, are always the top on most people’s lists of things to be thankful for. This year, more than ever, probaby a lot of people will add employment to that list. These are all things that I am thankful for.
I know my friends and family are there for me. And in my family I know I speak for everyone that we are all thankful for the continued health and growth of our newest member, my nephew. I know my friends are always going to be there for me…that is what makes them friends. I am very thankful for my job…because that is what gives me the funds to do things I love to do like blog (yey I just renewed my domain through feb of 2012), spoil said nephew, go to NASCAR races and visit my friend (the list could go on and on and on).
However there are little things to be thankful for EVERY day- not just once a year. Over the past year I have really been trying to be thankful for everything. I make sure to say Thank You for a job well done- whether I be thanking the student assistants who helped make my move so effortless or the person at the drive thru at McDonalds. I can tell that sometimes it really surprises people when you thank them for something as small as setting up your phone or taking your starbucks order. So..take a few extra minutes and thank that bagger who bagged your groceries or to the bank teller. It might really make their day- and that will totally make yours.
