Messing With The Neighbors…(and the Coworkers)

Posted by Amy in General

I may or may not have mentioned this before but I think the HHR I bought was originally destined for a climate with colder weather than we get here.  I say that because it came with seat warmers and remote start. The seat warmers (which originally I doubted I would ever use and now LOVE) weren’t a novelty so much as my dad’s Silverado has them in the front seat…but the remote start- that was and still is quite the novelty and most people here do NOT have them and are not use to cars that do.

The other morning I was gathering my things and getting ready to leave for work and as I did I happened to notice my neighbor from the other end of the block walking his malamute past my car. Well I also happened to have my keys in my hand at the time and I just couldn’t help myself.  I remote started the HHR.  Well he jumped and flipped around and looked at my car…and all around…I couldn’t help but chuckle watching his reaction and then I opened the front door and walked to my car and got in- chuckling the whole time.

I would love to tell you that was the only time I did that…but it’s not.  Two of my coworkers were walking next to my car in the parking lot- and they both knew it was my car…and I happened to be within remote start range so I started it up right when they were there.

Seriously I told you all that it doesn’t take much to amuse me sometimes.

That would be worth it to put a remote start in my car just to see people’s reactions when it started it up.

I do the exact same thing with my car to people parked next to me at the grocery store. It doesn’t get too cold here, but it does get hot. And lemme tell you, there’s nothing better than getting into my car with the AC already on when it’s 105 degrees outside. Totally worth it.

Also, seatwarmers rock. I crank up the AC just so I can use the seatwarmers all year long.
