It’s All Happening- Daytona!

Posted by Amy in General

The movie Almost Famous is one of my favorite movies.  Misty and I often throw quotes from it back and forth between the two of us and one of those quotes is “It’s all happening!”  We use it like “Everything is falling into place!” Or “Can you believe how exciting this is!”  Well I am EXCITED because Daytona is here which means that NASCAR is finally starting! It’s ALL happening!

Tony will start tomorrows NATIONWIDE race 10th and will be driving the #33 Ritz Camaro. IF he pulls off the win he will tie Dale Earnhardt’s record. I hope he wins.  He will be starting Sunday’s SPRINT CUP SERIES race 13th in the #14 Bass Pro Chevy SS! Both are fairly decent starting positions.  It’s ALL happening!!

Some items out of Daytona so far that you may have missed:

*Quicken Loans wants to PAY YOUR MORTGAGE for a month!  Every time driver Ryan Newman finishes in the top 5 during a race – five fans who enter the Quicken Loans Bring It Home sweepstakes will be drawn and get their mortgages paid for a month!  You can enter weekly and earn extra entries by referring friends and family to the sweepstakes! Enter at QLRacing.com now!

*In probably some of the best news I have heard come out of the weekend- Rush Truck Centers will be the primary sponsor on Tony Stewart’s 14 Chevy for THREE races (Auto Club on March 24, Martinsville on April 7th, and Richmond on April 27th).  That means (if my math is correct) that there are only 4 more races needing sponsorship- oh to be independently wealthy- I would be all over that).  Rush Truck Centers are also going to be an associate sponsor when not the primary sponsor of the race! YEY RUSH TRUCK CENTERS!!!  It makes me feel good when I hear about the sponsor gaps on Tony’s #14 Chevy filling up.  Like I mentioned if I was independently wealthy I would be ALL OVER a sponsorship of some sort…but alas I am not.

*Twin brothers Justin and Jayson Ryter, both US Marine Corp Veterans,  received a special delivery from Budweiser- tickets to the Daytona 500 delivered to their home by the famed Clydsdale horse team/wagon and none other than KEVIN and DELANA HARVICK:

How cool for every one involved and what an awesome way to honor a couple of veterans!

*A favorite article from Daytona thus far is this one from Nate Ryan from USA Today: Tony Stewart-”There are days you hate it and days you love it”- it’s a must read for Stewart fans.

*And finally- two favorite pictures of Tony Stewart from the weekend this far:

First I love the expression on Tony’s face in this picture- it’s like he doesn’t believe a word Brian Scott is saying!

I also love this tweeted photo of Tony taking a minute to contemplate the roses grass. There is just something kind of peaceful about it.
