In a lick of the envelope…/Update: And it continues…

Yes, ETS, it IS a full moon. How do I know?

Today at work- I was licking an envelope to seal it and managed a nasty papercut ON MY LIP!!! I could feel it slice the skin.

    Only me…
    ****
    Update:

Now not only does my lip hurt from the paper cut my elbow hurts too. Why? Because when I bought the TV this weekend I had to take the chains I carry (you know for snow…because ever since I got caught in the snow driving to Vegas as couple winters ago I carry chains) out of the cargo area and placed them on the back seat…and today some bozo merged in front of me then slammed on their brakes hard…which caused me to slam on my brakes hard…which caused the chains to fly forward smack into my elbow before coming to a rest on the floorboard of the back seat.

I think I should just go to home and go to bed…tomorrow has to be better right?

    New Year in Vegas

So for New Years I went to Vegas. I had a great time. Spent half a day on Friday hanging out with my friends 11 year old brother-while she was at work. It was kind of fun. He wanted to go to the mall so we went. He had Christmas money burning a hole in his pocket…

NYE was a small gathering. Nothing to exciting there.

The neatest thing I did in Vegas (besides visit with bfm) was go to a new casino: SOUTH COAST. We went to go to the movies there. Mostly it was a low key trip. I did have a great time there- and have been stuck on Keith Urban since BFM loves him…so I have been in a country state of music listening to lately…especially Keith Urban. I even go to see her dvd of him live…it was good- I could see him live! Maybe the next time he comes my way!

Christmas 05 in pictures (and some words)

As promised I am finally getting to the christmas pictures. Unfortunately I had my camera on some funky setting and a lot of my pictures came out looking majorly blurry. These luckily are all that remains:

My uncle and I almost always give each other borders giftcards- and other goodies as well. Here my uncle opens his giftcard on Christmas Eve.

This is one of the best gifts from Christmas Eve- my uncle (the one in the first picture) remembered that the last time he saw my SNL she was scrounging around for quarters for the laundry. One of her gifts was $20.00 in laundry quarters!

Here my SNL demonstrates her technique for getting into boxes- she just rips right into them…here she is doing it on Christmas Eve during the white elephant portion of the exchange…but she did the same thing christmas morning too.

Roxy and my dad conspiring on Christmas Eve.

My dad enjoys a giftcard as one of his gifts from yours truly on Christmas morning.

Thanks to my dad..Miss Roxy finally figured out that christmas present opening wasn’t something destructive that she must hide from- when she (with help from my dad) opened her gift of Meaty Bones it finally clicked for her that there could be food in those packages…so whenever someone was unwrapping on Christmas morning she had to smell the gift to see if it was edible. Unfortunately the pictures of her opening her meaty bones didn’t come out. But I do have pictures of her inspecting presents!

Roxy wonders if this present too holds meaty bones?

Again Roxy does the sniff test for food…and comes away disappointed.

By the end of the present opening on Christmas morning- Roxy is plum tuckered out!

Our Christmas was great! Hope yours was too!

Welcome to 2006- Now Go Home!

Did you have a blast ringing in the new year? I did. I was in Vegas…and NO I wasn’t on the strip…I spent most of NYE trying to figure ways to get where I needed/wanted to go and AVOID the strip at all costs. But that is a different story.

I am back…and I have lots to tell…about Vegas, about christmas…about why I am currently in a Country mood musically. But…unfortunately dear internet…I am also rather grumpy. Especially about being here at work today. I so wanted to sleep in and play with Roxy all day…but no…these evil people at work expect me to come in and actually work today (probably because I didn’t take the whole week off on vacation…pooey). But soon I will weave you a tale…and throw in some adorable Roxy at Christmas pictures that you will not be able to resist…but for now…back to the salt mines.

Did you have a good holiday weekend?

Good. So did I. The place where I work takes most of the vacation days throughout the year (like Columbus Day, State Admission Day, Presidents Day, etc) and moves them to the week after christmas. I had visions of posting tons this week.

I have decided instead to not post at all. I am going to Vegas on Friday to visit BFM and will not be back until late January 3rd. I am not going to open BADGROOVE up to guestposting or anything like that…so Until Januaray…I wish you a very very happy new year. If you are bored- pick one of my Groovy Reads and read them instead!!! Just be sure you come back to me January 4th or 5th!

Some people call us THE GRISWALDS

Our house has made the local news and the local paper. Want some pictures? You know you do!!!

The whole house from across the street (Click on picture for bigger version of this one only):

    Frosty:

Toy Soldier (located on far side of driveway- cut off in the big picture)

SnowGlobe (it really snows on the inside…very cool):

A random sampling of the characters. They are homemade…my dad does all the drawing and cutting out of wood and paints most of them. I have painted a couple of them too!

And this is just OUR HOUSE. The whole street- is done up really really nice- and attracts a lot of attention. For pictures of another house in our neighborhood that I took GO HERE.

    GingerBread Building Contest!!!

At work- HR provides us with a gingerbread kit and we get teams together and build. The first year we did a barn. This year…we got a little more elaborate and made a train station…on which it snowed. Absolutely everything-except for the base is food…you can even eat the little people sitting by the station waiting for their train!

Except for a few little things…

I am DONE with my Christmas shopping…GO ME!!! Of course my checking account is crying POOR ME! But I like having it DONE and OVER with…
