Arrrgggg me mateys, I be back…

I am back but don’t have anything to say right now. I would like to thank BILL for stepping up and keeping up Badgroove while I was away.

Until I feel like posting about my trip (which may be in 10 minutes or tomorrow) I feel the need to tell you that today is:

    TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY

So be sure to have some fun with that by randomly throwing in things like:
    Ahoy Matey
    Arrrgggg
How’d you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder? and
Ya know, beauty, I’m 97 percent chum free!

into everyday conversation. It’s fun. It keeps people guessing. I am going to try this one: (standard departmental greeting) ARRRRRGGGG this is AMY! and then break into random refrains of “YO HO YO HO it’s a pirate’s life for me!” while working the call center today!!

Guest Posting…Keep BadGroove Rockin’ while I am away!!!

Guest posting is now open for business.

I will be back in town on Saturday- but guest posting will remain open until Monday September 19th, 2005 in the morning.

    Returned From Vegas!

I am back…I am working on an entry detailing the fun of the concert and the not so fun of the eye…expect it soon. Guest-posting is now turned off.

    Vegas Bound!!! (Yes … Again!!!)

Greetings from the fairly damp (so damp it might as well be raining) central coast of California!!! I will be leaving tomorrow morning for drier ground…yep…that is right…in the wee hours I am leaving for Vegas….again. Old Doris pretty much knows the route by know!! Anyway…I am there to see BFM because well..she IS my best friend and all. And while I am there I plan to take in the Slaughter/Skid Row show at the ORLEANS this saturday.

Anyway…guest posting is open for anyone who has an account…feel free to use it. Or if you want you can always just comment on the stunning entry that is this…whatever. I am leaving you all to amuse yourselves…I will be back on Monday but probably not posting until Tuesday.

Possible topic to consider: (for those who aren’t inspired to guestpost/comment):

Why do I go to Vegas so much…and why don’t I fly there instead of drive?
    Toliet Paper: Over or Under?
Bathroom (or Public Restroom) Ettiquette (always a badgroove favorite)
Why is it so damn foggy here?
Why does Amy insist on getting her car washed BEFORE she leaves instead of after she returns?
    Almond Joys vs Mounds.
My celebrity crush (or Your Celebrity Crush)

Of course you are not limited to these topics…if you have an account- post away :D

Dear Manny: (aka the Post-Vegas Post)

Last week you asked me about Vegas…and sought advice as to what to do during your trip there. Being the slacker that I am I put off replying…but finally here it is- nearly a week later!

So this time I was in Vegas I:

Visted the Silverton Casino- mostly for the Bass Pro Shop…and ended up getting my father’s day present, my brother’s birthday present and both of their christmas presents there …totally for $90.00. It is huge…seriously this store is the size of a small town mall. Now I just have to worry that my dad will go to Vegas just to go to this store. This casino is nice. Although off strip and a bit out of the way. There is a cool bar there where every hour on the hour Mermaids swim through this large aquatic tank to music. There are also some OCC bikes especially made for the silverton on display there.

Visited The Wynn-You know…after all the hype I heard about the Wynn being so opulent I wasn’t impressed with the inside of the Wynn. I don’t know what I expected but I was disappointed. The shops remind me of the upper end shops in South Coast Plaza. There is a Ferrari/Maserati dealership right as you walk into the Wynn from the self park parking garage (which fills up fast- so go early or shuttle/cab/walk)- but you have to pay $10.00 to go in (I think you get a baseball hat if you pay to go in). You can see the cars from the adjoining giftshop- which is filled with overpriced memorabilia. There is an art gallery…but I can’t compare it to the ones at the Bellagio or Venetian because I didn’t go in (tickets are $14.00 a person if you wanted to know). The outside of the Wynn- with the waterfalls is very very nice though. And they have a bitchin’ billboard out front. I have heard wonderful wonderful things about the show at the Wynn called Le Reve- but it is expensive ($95 a ticket) so I didn’t go.

Visited THE DISTRICT at Green Valley Ranch– I love the Green Valley Ranch. They have a great Buffet if you are ever there. Also- the shops at the District are eclectic and cool. And they have an ELEPHANT BAR which I love to eat at…but they are usually busy so make reservations if you want to go or prepare to wait. They are also also off strip located in Henderson.

I went to THE FASHION SHOW: I love this mall. I love the underground parking, I love the goofy spaceship looking thing coming out of the front…and they have a sketcher’s store…and a paul frank store…and an apple store…and a saks. And lots of other stores including two starbucks. You can’t go wrong at the fashion show.

Now I also spent quality friend time with BFM which was the whole point of the trip. And yes I had a blast…but we are the kind of friends who can make almost anything fun so…there you have it.

Now you wanted to talk shows…
I have heard WE WILL ROCK YOU is great. It is located at PARIS and I want to try to go next time. We will see if this happens though. Looks like they are dark on Thursdays. Blue Man is something I have also wanted to see but never had the chance…I believe Blue Man is dark on Wednesdays.

Buffets:I meantioned the one at Green Valley Ranch, I also like the one at The Monte Carlo. I have heard great things about the ones at THE PALMS and THE RIO but have not had a chance to check them out yet.

Of course I don’t know how long you plan to be there Manny…or what kinds of things you like to do…but if you have any questions…let me know.

    Returned

I have returned from Vegas but still haven’t gotten around to downloading the few pics I took from the digital camera…but they are coming…along with a recap of my mad adventure..ok…it wasn’t that mad of an adventure…but it was fun all the same.

    AAAARRRROOOOOO!!! (guest posting open)

AAAARRRROOOOOO is beaglese for HEY YOU!

Can you believe Amy went to Las Vegas without me? She wanted me to tell you that Guest posting will be open until Wednesday at somepoint. To guest post just login to your account.

I sure hope she brings me back some treats or something.

    Part 1: Hick Shit**

A couple sundays ago the monster trucks were in town. The day before the actual event- every year- some of the competing monster trucks are on display infront of the arena to allow fans to look at them, take pictures of them and what not. A bunch of the drivers come out at a specified time to sign autographs and such. This is all free.

Now my dad has this ridiculously expensive and fancy digital camera and loves to use it…and often takes some remarkable pictures. Point being, that he (my dad) is always looking for an opportunity to use his camera. So when the monster trucks were in town we charged our camera batteries and headed over to the sports complex . The pictures will be in the extended entry because I don’t want to offend anyone who has senstivity to large trucks, ridiculously big tires (some were as tall as me!), or considers themselves above looking at fodder from such déclassé events.

Extend entry to see big trucks with big tires.

and my personal favorites of the pictures I took:
