Qualified: 25th

Finished: 20th

Race Winner: Matt Kenseth

Points After Kentucky: 16th.  Sigh. 22 points out of 10th, and 153 out of first- another tumble.

My Mood After Kentucky: Not good.

Unfortunately I really don’t have much to say…so here are some pictures from the race that I dug up surfing the web: (more…)

I get emails from Bass Pro Shops every so often- usually when they are having a sale. It’s because I shop there- I really do and have since way before they became a primary co-sponsor on Tony’s car. I have a father and a brother (and now three nephews) who are all outdoorsy and like to hunt and fish and camp so BPS is a great place for birthday presents and Christmas presents.

Anyway- I got this email here:

Duck Dynasty Email from Bass Pro Shops (Screen shot by me)

It’s advertising that they would have Duck Dynasty Season 2 on sale at BPS.com. Of course being the astute Tony Stewart fan that I am, I open every BPS email now hoping to see Tony looking at me  and definitely NOT the guys from Duck Dynasty.  I mean I have probably seen about three episodes of the show (and yes one of them was the Clint Bowyer episode- quite by accident). But for some reason the above email got me thinking…(and yes it is always dangerous when I start thinking).

What if one of the BPS sponsored races was a Duck Dynasty car?  That would be kind of cool I think?  I KNOW that judging by the things I see in my Facebook feed that there are a lot of Duck Dynasty fans out there and I know that BPS have done other special paint schemes so why not a Duck Dynasty one? They obviously sell DD stuff- as I have seen the t-shirts at the store in Vegas. So maybe next time I open an email from Bass Pro Shops I will instead see this graphic announcing the special paint scheme that I thought up:

Duck Dynasty and Tony Stewart- come on…it would be a cool paint scheme- admit it! (Photo created by Kevin M. Boots)

Come on admit it- you secretly think it’s a good idea too?

Hello Las Vegas Smoke Fans!  I have good news!  I have heard of two Tony Stewart appearances in the Las Vegas area that I want to share with you:

1. Tony Stewart will be appearing Wednesday March 6th 2013 at the Bass Pro Shop in Las Vegas with fellow Bass Pro driver Ty Dillon at 1:00 Pm.  The Bass Pro Shop is located next to the Silverton hotel and Casino right off the 15.  I don’t know if wristbands are needed but I would assume they are and arrive early.*

2. On Saturday March 9th, 2013 Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick will be signing autographs at the MGM Grand for Coca-Cola Racing at 7:00 PM.  Wristbands ARE required and will be given away at noon on Saturday at the MGM Grand.  There are only 50 wristbands available for this event- I would expect them to go quickly so you may want to get there early. When they did a similar event for Jamie McMurray a couple of years ago they were stationed in the main lobby- so I would start there.

*Sorry about my lack of knowledge about the Bass Pro Event- the PR company for Office Depot racing use to forward me his appearances in advance of races - I do not get that information from Bass Pro or Mobil or any of his other sponsors- so if I find any info out I try to pass on what I know.

Hey Tony Stewart fans!  Guess what? The first 25 people through the doors of their local Bass Pro Shop this Saturday February 23rd, 2013 will receive an officially licensed, limited edition 1:24 scale Action Racing Collectibles Tony Stewart 2013 Pass Pro Shops #14 Chevrolet SS!!!
