If you are anywhere near the Stewart-Haas Racing shop on October 12th – this might be something you might want to show up to- whether you have a hot rod to enter or just (like me) like to appreciate other’s hot rods. Click the flyer to go to the webpage!
It’s no question that Kevin Harvick has been the performer this season for Stewart-Haas Racing. Kevin leads Stewart-Haas Racing with two wins, five top-fives, and nine top-tens this season. He’s pretty much a shoe in for making the 2014 Chase Grid. At least he’s a member of Stewart-Haas Racing or this Tony Stewart fan would be an anti-Harvick fan this season (don’t take it personally Kevin- I am an equal opportunity anti-fan if you are doing better than my Smoke). Being the crack investigative journalist* I am- I think that I have found out WHY Kevin is doing so well this season and while Tony Stewart is not! Kevin Harvick has stolen Tony Stewart’s #Mobil1Mojo and I have the surveillance video to prove it:
And now he’s going to flaunt his thievery of the #Mobil1Mojo at Pocono this weekend by driving the #4 Mobil 1 Chevy. Don’t believe me? Here is a picture of the paint scheme with an official quote and everything:
“I’m honored to be driving the No. 4 Mobil 1 Chevrolet SS at Pocono. Mobil 1 is a truly iconic brand in motorsports, both as a major sponsor of racing and as a performance partner for top race teams around the world. I know that Mobil 1 will help me get to the winner’s circle as I drive toward the 2014 Sprint Cup championship.” –Kevin Harvick
See how flagrant he is about his thievery? Issuing quotes and photos and stuff?! You won’t get away with this Kevin Harvick! Tony Stewart will figure out a way to get back his #Mobil1Mojo I am sure of it.
All joking aside- Kevin Harvick IS running the above paint scheme at Pocono Raceway this weekend. Check it out.
Now I am off to plot world domination…or at least figure out a way to help Tony Stewart regain possession of the #Mobil1Mojo.
*If by investigative journalist I mean a tech support maven with a NASCAR blog
UPDATE July 7th, 2014: Okay so my voting strategy has changed. I am now voting for whatever helmet has the most votes that is NOT the 40 Years Young helmet because I still think that helmet is UGLY with a capital UGLY. This means as of late I have been voting for SMOKE. Join me won’t you?
Tony Stewart fans- I have a question of the utmost importance for you. Is this a face that deserves to run an ugly helmet?
I say no. I bet you say no too. (more…)
I got back from Race Sonoma yesterday afternoon- and started on the downloading and editing of nearly a gig worth of pictures between loads of laundry unfortunately I only got about half way through the pictures as of last night and today it was back to the grind at work so to hold you all over check out the last two installments of Mobil 1 Oil: An Odyssey until I can get that race diary up: (more…)
Instead of the usual Friday TQMS* post that I usually do- I thought I would share this picture that Tony tweeted not long after he joined Twitter because for some reason I find PorkChop to be ridiculously adorable:
Awwww….I can’t be the only one. Cute lil piggie. Actually not so little- Porkchop appears to be about the size of my beagle. Hey Tony how about a play date? (Kidding- although Gracie loves to play with other dogs- I think PorkChop might scare her and then she would scare him with her crazy shrill baying and he’d likely head for the hills – or wherever lil piggies hide). In keeping with NASCAR’s efforts to “go green” NASCAR will, with the help of ExxonMobil, begin to convert it’s fleet and service vehicles as well as it’s generators over to Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy and Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30. Fleet cars, transporters and even the famed Air Titan, protector of the NASCAR Universe, will be using Mobil 1 (that’s 65 fleet vehicles and 16 generators).
Global motorsports manager at ExxonMobil, Artis Brown, explained “our line of advanced lubricating oils and greases can help increase equipment operating efficiency and engine fuel economy, and help contribute to reduced energy and resource use, lower emissions, and cost savings for industrial equipment and machinery, as well as passenger and commercial vehicle engines.”
As we fans know- Mobil 1 in one of Tony Stewart’s Primary Co-Sponsors, so he was on hand at the press conference at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday. “After working with ExxonMobil lubricant engineers for three seasons, I’ve seen first-hand how well they know the value of engine oils to fuel economy—whether it’s for me on the track or for consumers driving to and from the track. Since Stewart-Haas Racing and Mobil 1 began our relationship, the entire SHR team has seen improved fuel mileage, resulting in our drivers being able to go longer between pit stops,” owner/driver Tony Stewart explained.

Well the sixth installment of Smoke IS The Bandit really is just a compliation of all the webisodes into one. I think it’s even more entertaining to watch all at once. For your viewing pleasure- what I like to call Smoke IS The Bandit: The Whole Enchilada:
Also I got this in my email and I thought you all might be interested: Mobil 1 synthetic oil is giving you the chance to win a Corvette Stingray. Four randomly selected entrants will win a trip to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY (yes THAT one- where the hungry earth opened up and swallowed up 8 beautiful Corvettes)- each of those winners gets an awesome prize package that includes a key. One of those four keys opens the door to the Stingray. There are also other prizes so even if you don’t win a trip to see The National Corvette Museum- you might win some great Mobil 1 or Corvette swag! You can’t win if you don’t ENTER! Good luck. Hopefully I will see you in Bowling Green KY. And if I do- no hard feelings but I hope my key starts the Stingray.
Aww darn it! Who else is a little disappointed that the fun Mobil 1 web series of Smoke IS The Bandit is over??!! Yep that is right the final episode is here: (more…)
