So it’s been awhile since I talked about any initiatives the Tony Stewart Foundation is doing to raise money- so I thought I would talk about a couple of EBay Auctions going on right now and the Chevy Raffle.

First- remember back when Tony Stewart ran the Back-To-School / Office Depot Foundation paint scheme in Pocono just a few weeks ago. Well Tony also had a Back-To-School/Office Depot Foundation firesuit and helmet to go with that spiffy paint scheme.  And now you have the chance to bid on one or both of those items via eBay.  The proceeds to the firesuit and the helmet go to The Office Depot Foundation. The auction stated today and goes through September 14th.  Click here to see the Firesuit auction. Click here to see the Helmet auction. Happy bidding if you choose to bid on it.

This is the helmet you can bid on- the Back-To-School/Office Depot Foundation helmet Tony wore at Pocono just a few weeks ago. (Photo Credit: the Tony Stewart Foundation Ebay auction)

Also there are still tickets left for the Tony Stewart Foundation Customize Your Ride Chevy raffle. Tickets are $100.00. Winner get’s their choice of a chevy vehicle plus customizations up to $50,000 (Chevy VOLT is not included). Two lucky runner ups get a Wallhanger autographed by Tony Stewart.  (For those who don’t know- a Wallhanger is an authentic piece of aluminum door from a race car- there are pictures of them on the website).  The raffle ends October 1st. Only 3000 raffle tickets will be sold and currently there are over 2,000 tickets left.  Visit the Tony Stewart Foundation Customize Your Ride Chevy Raffle page now for more details and to purchase your ticket.

Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg VA!

Enjoy yourself! Wish I was going with you all!!

When I got the announcement that Nick Cannon was going to be in Fort Lauderdale with Tony’s show car I was more than happy to blog about it because not only is it Tony Stewart related (because hello- show car) and that there was a special guest at this show car appearance (Nick Cannon! Yes I watch AGT- shut up.) but my regular readers know I am a HUGE supporter of the Office Depot Foundation National Backpack Program and not just because it’s something that Tony Stewart supports. I am supportive because I love the fact that kids who need supplies to help them succeed in school are getting them. What a confidence builder to them to say here are the tools to help you make the most of your education. It’s that simple. But I digress. I got the PR announcement about the event and I kiddingly wrote back that  I would “love to see a picture of Nick Cannon with Tony’s show car” I think I even said I would be very “impressed” if my contact could make it happen. I wasn’t serious..I was trying to make a very busy person smile at the thought.  I REALLY WAS KIDDING PEOPLE…yet if you scroll down? There it be people- there it be. Now I am not saying that this picture was take only because I asked for it- more than likely there was other need for it…but the fact that it was taken tickles me pink. And if I WAS the reason the picture was taken? Well I apologize to Nick Cannon- but I am still posting it because I am still tickled pink.

Before we get right to the picture I want to share some information about the event to go along with the photo: Award-winning actor, comedian and “America’s Got Talent” host Nick Cannon took a moment to check out three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ champion Tony Stewart’s No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevy Impala on Thursday, August 16, 2012, during a special “Back-To-School Celebration” at an Office Depot store in Fort Lauderdale. Cannon joined the Office Depot Foundation to help donate 10,000 colorful new sackpacks to deserving children served by local organizations, schools and agencies in Greater Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. By the end of 2012, the Office Depot Foundation will have helped more than 2.9 million children since launching its National Backpack Program in 2001.

Are you ready for it?

Ok here it is:

It’s even MORE awesome because it’s the Back-To-School paint scheme that Tony’s car is sporting (my favorite of his Back-To-School paint schemes to date) and the tires are the Support Our Troops Goodyears.  See…this picture is ALL kinds of awesome wrapped up in one little picture (or bigger picture if you click on it). It would only be better if Nick Cannon was holding a sign that said For BadGroove.com. I am nearly giddy at the thought…then again- it’s the little things that make my day!

By the way- I still think my idea of teaming up Nick Cannon and Tony Stewart for an Office Depot commercial is good. I even have the commercial in my head.  All I will say is that it’s Nick and Tony in an Office Depot around the holidays and that the Teddy B. Caring bear is involved. Think about it- it could be comedic gold right there.

Tony Stewart’s Show car decided to go on a little vacation to Florida (can you blame it? It got tired seeing all the sprint racing Tony’s been doing and needed to take a rest just thinking about it)!

Yes you heard it here- Tony Stewart’s show call will be at the Office Depot located at 6325 N. Andrews Ave in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  It will be there starting at 10:00 am local time tomorrow August 16th 2012. The Office Depot Foundation will be presenting sackpacks of school supplies to local non-profit agencies serving the area’s local children (sackpacks are NOT available to the public-sorry).  And there WILL be a special guest- Nick Cannon (from America’s Got Talent) who will be preforming with his band 4Count. So try to stop by in Fort Lauderdale!

Total side note- so you have all seen the Depot Time Tony Stewart commercial. There is a similar Nick Cannon commerical too (sorry couldn’t find a link to that one).  I think they need to do one with both Tony AND Nick Cannon- that would be hilarious.

Warning- this post is going to be laden with photos. Why? Because photographers Glenn and Jessica Bure were kind enough to supply BG with photos of Tony and his car in Pocono. So a HUGE thank you to both Glenn and Jessica for sharing their pictures with BadGroove! Also a huge Thanks to The Office Depot Foundation for supplying BadGroove with pictures from the Allentown, PA Sackpack donation! (more…)

As I mentioned last week Tony Stewart would be doing an Autograph Appearance for fans at an Office Depot store in Indianapolis Indiana.  Part of his autograph appearance included the first Sackpack donation for the upcoming school year that Tony helped The Office Depot Foundation distribute.  I know that I have talked about it before but basically the National Backpack program supplies sackpacks filled with necessary school supplies to local non-profit organizations that help support young people in their community.  I honestly think that this is a WONDERFUL program! Just a small pack full of school supplies helps give children the tools they need to succeed in school- what a great gift. (more…)

Good news for Indianapolis Smoke fans!!! Tony Stewart will be doing an autograph appearance at the Indianapolis Office Depot on Wednesday July 25th, 2012!  Tony will sign autographs for 300 fans at the Office Depot located at 4200 South East Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227 starting at approximately 5:00pm local time!  You must have a wristband for the event. Wristbands will be distributed starting at 8:00 am on the day of the event at the 4200 South East Street Office Depot on a first come, first serve basis until either all the wristbands are gone or 5:00 pm- which ever happens first.

While Tony is there he will also be helping donate 6000 sackpaks filled with school supplies to local nonprofits servicing school age children.  He’s helped the Office Depot Foundation with the sackpack donations every year since Office Depot became his sponsor. It’s a worthy cause- what school child doesn’t love to have a sackpack full of needed school supplies on the first day of school. I know I still LOVE school supplies and I haven’t been in school for…well a long time!

Get their early, wear comfy shoes and prepare to hang out with your fellow Tony Stewart fans- it’s always a fun time. I haven’t been to one of these in what seems like ages (March) so I will be with you all in spirit!
