So the winning Party In The Poconos 400 pace car design was the one I liked best:

Pace Car Design 3

YEY. Now if only they’d let me have it when they are done…I kid I kid (kinda).

On a more serious note- I want to talk about paint schemes for a minute.  First off…Tony is running a special Code 3 Associates Paint/Oklahoma paint scheme this weekend:

Code 3 Associates have been partnered with Stewart-Haas Racing since last year. Honestly I wasn’t even too sure what Code 3 Associates were except that they worked with animals until the Nabisco NASCAR online chat with Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman last week (check out the link to the video of the chat- but be prepared to park your butt for awhile because it’s a long one- over an hour- but it’s well well worth it!) where Ryan explained some of what Code 3 Associates do. It’s awesome and they were on their way to Oklahoma the day after the tornadoes to take care of pets when their owners can’t after a disaster and reunite them with their families when possible! What a great organization – and I can see why they partner with Stewart-Haas Racing because between Tony and Ryan I can’t think of two more pro-animal, pro-pet drivers!

But what I really want to talk about were Tony’s Bass Pro Paint Schemes for both the All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600.

So here is the 14 All-Star Paint Scheme…The car is mostly black on top with the orange at the bottom. It’s a nice looking paint scheme by it’s self and I know from that Nabisco Chat up there that Tony likes black paint schemes (there is also a turkey on the back quarter panels for the National Wild Turkey Foundation but you can’t really see it from this view):

Point is I LOVED this paint scheme. LOVED it. Except for one huge glaring problem.  Jamie McMurray’s car was also running a Bass Pro Shops/National Wild Turkey Foundation paint scheme and looked far too similar:

I wasn’t at the race- so I don’t know what it was like watching the race in person- but on TV it was really hard to tell the difference between Tony and Jamie’s cars. In the picture above it’s easier to tell them apart then it was on TV because the cars aren’t moving and are framed together where you can see the two biggest differences- the roof number color and that Tony’s car had more of an orange splitter and side skirt. My thought is they should use the black paint scheme as Tony’s normal Bass Pro Shops paint scheme (sans the turkey of course) and take his usual Bass Pro Paint scheme and slap the turkey on the back and use that one whenever Tony and Jamie are BOTH going to run Bass Pro Paint schemes. It would make it easier for us home views to tell them apart (and no I wasn’t watching on a small TV so that was not the issue).  Just a thought there…because I kind of like the more black/less orange paint scheme. My dad would tell you to go all orange because it would be easier to see because there are too many black race cars.I guess it might be about personal preference.

Tony’s usual Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 paint scheme:
