Yep- it’s that time for the stuff that has been rolling around in my brain bucket like loose lugnuts in a pitstall after a green flag pitstop:

1. In case you weren’t aware- it’s voting time for Most Popular Driver again!  I know every dang year that Dale Jr wins..but it doesn’t stop me from casting my vote for Tony Stewart every day (you can vote once a day).  Bookmark it and make it a part of your morning routine like I have.

2. There is a well-put together, touching piece by IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan published in the Player’s Tribune (yes Derek Jeter’s publication) called Why We Race. Any race fan should give it a read.

3. In case you missed it, last week’s Darlington edition of ROAR Magazine  had a short article about Tony Stewart called: Wearing Many Hats: Stewart Has A Deep Love of Motorsports.  WE all know he does but I thought I would pass along the link just in case you missed it. (more…)

I am purposely NOT going to mention the Richmond brouhaha that happened at the end of the race because I feel that I have given it enough of my time and energy as well as two blog posts.  Let’s talk about the task at hand: Team 14 and the Richmond race!

Qualifying was not stellar. However- I learned with Tony not to put stock in where they start- but in where they finish. The uber competitive race fan in me- who lives vicariously through my driver wants nothing less than a win every single race.  The points watcher in me always wants a top 5 finish. One thing that is kind of frustrating to me about short tracks (as much as I do love them)- is it is SO easy to go a lap down. And this happened again to Mark Martin in the first half of the race. I will admit it- I was a wee bit disheartened.

So on Wednesday some guys got together at a little half-mile dirt track in Ohio and played in the dirt raced around it.  They raced for fun and glory….proceeds went to four great children’s hospitals.

I watched the event as I do every year on PPV…but the other day I was searching around and I found a photo album that had some GREAT photos from the event. I wanted to share some of my favorites  (after the jump): (more…)

Exciting news Prelude to the Dream fans! IRL driver Tony Kanaan has joined the numerous drivers taking part in the 7th annual charity dirt race at the famed Eldora Speedway. I have a feeling he will end up on TEAM DALLAS since they are short a member.

Here is the “scouting” report for TEAM DALLAS- Tony’s team for the June 8th Prelude To The Dream race on HBO PPV.  I am really starting to get excited for this race!

Don’t forget to check your local PPV listings to order the dirt race. For more information visit the Prelude To The Dream website.
