This week in the Quotable Tony Stewart we are celebrating his partnership with Rush Truck centers and appreciation for truck drivers across America:

“Oftentimes, I don’t think people realize how critical truck drivers are to our everyday lives. Without them, America’s economy would come to a standstill. Without Gober (No. 14 truck driver), I wouldn’t have my Rush Truck Centers/Mobil Delvac 1 Chevy to drive this weekend. So, it feels good to shine the spotlight on them and the great driving they do.” — Tony Stewart- Texas pre-race team release

I hope Tony can get a win tomorrow at Texas in the Rush Truck Center #14 Chevrolet!

I was excited for Martinsville- it’s a favorite track for me to watch on television. I like watching tight quarters racing. It’s what NASCAR racing is to me- rubbing, contact, flared tempers and cars that look like they have been through a 500 miles race.  So I always get excited when it comes time for Martinsville. Always.

It was looking like it was going to be a pretty darn good race for us Stewart fans as well. Tony qualified the car 6th! That in itself was exciting to me. Whoo!  Martinsville is so small that it is easy to get a lap down if you are too far in the back of the field.  So with my fingers crossed for a decent showing at Martinsville I sat down on Sunday and watched 43 drivers take the green flag.

In honor of the fact that Tony is running the Code 3 Associates Paint Scheme this weekend at Martinsville I am going just a big bigger with my Friday Quotable Tony post this week- more quotes and more pictures all illustrating Tony’s passion for animals!

We start with his quote about Code 3 Associates from the Martinsville Pre-Race Team Release:

At Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia on March 28, 2014 (Photo courtesy of the Tony Stewart Foundation)

“We’re honored to have Code 3 Associates as a partner with Stewart-Haas Racing. Whenever there’s a disaster, everyone wants to help, and it’s nice to know there’s an organization out there that takes care of a sometimes overlooked but very important family member – your pet. Taking care of animals has always been important to me, and when we started our foundation, we made animal welfare a priority. To be able to promote the work of Code 3 Associates so that it can do even more work for people and their pets is very satisfying.”- Tony Stewart, Martinsville pre-race team release.

For those who don’t know who Code 3 Associates provide animal and recovery during natural disasters. But they also provide training in everything from technical animal rescue and animal disaster response to animal cruelty training for investigators. You can check out their website and become a free member or make a donation. (more…)

Well here it is- the annual Vegas Racecation Diary with pictures! Sorry for the delay- I had some fairly major issues with my laptop…but those have all been ironed out. Thank you for your patience and I hope that you like the pictures Misty and I have to share with you from the great time we had at the Kobalt 400 in Las Vegas. Also- stay tune next week we will be announcing a contest for some cool Tony Stewart prizes.

Tony Finished: 14th

Points: 62 points, 32nd in the standings (that is +4 from last week)

Quote Of The Race: “I am not sure if I calibrated my ass or not today”- Tony Stewart on his radio to crew chief Chad Johnston while talking about the handling of the car.

Ahh Auto Club Speedway (California Speedway? Fontana Speedway? Maybe we should just call you by what Tony’s crew chief Chad Johnton referred to you as and just call you “big gal”) you are a casualty of the West Coast Swing as NASCAR has called it. I use to sneak down to see you when you were in late March early April…but by bunching up the Spring “west coast” dates (sorry Phoenix- you get stuck in there even though you really are not on the coast- or close even) I really am forced to choose and I always choose Vegas.   Don’t get me wrong- I am glad that you sold the grand stands out and everything but I longed to be in them- but as someone with a Monday-Friday 8-5 job I only get so much vacation a year and I can not use it all at once. Sorry Auto Club. (more…)

Tony Stewart- Rush Truck Center

We’ve been doing business with Rush Truck Centers for years. It’s an established relationship that has a much higher profile thanks to Rush Truck Centers becoming a primary sponsor with our team. Rush Truck Centers keeps our trucks and transporters up and running, and you could argue those are the most important parts of our race team. Without them, our cars never get to the racetrack.” —Tony Stewart, Auto Club pre race team release

Tony Qualified: 17th

Tony Finished: 39th

Points: 32 points, currently 36th in the standings

What is that saying? If it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all or something like that? I feel that could definitely be used in the case of Tony Stewart’s season. He has yet to finish a race on the lead lap. That ugly stat makes this Smoke fan sad. (more…)
